We had a White (day after) Christmas!!

Imagine our surprise when we awoke on Sunday (the 26th) to see it snowing! It had started around 6:30am and didn’t stop until almost 4pm. THIRTEEN INCHES!! Totally unexpected – the weather forecasters were WAY wrong on this one. They kept saying we were going to get anywhere from a dusting to 3 inches. HA! Wrong! Driving home from the Hampton/Norfolk area yesterday was horrible. What is normally a 3 1/2 hour trip turned into 5. Heard on the news that the VA State Police had to deal with over 70 accidents on I-64 on Sunday. Yikes!

Uninvited guest coming for Christmas

Just lovely that a zit decided to show up just in time for Christmas. Now I look like Rudolph (although it’s not on my nose) and will be trying to tilt and turn to hide it in all the obligatory family pictures. Just great. I am TOO OLD to get zits!!!!!

we’re just a *little bit* crazy

Jeez. We braved 3 of the busiest stores on the weekend before Christmas today! Target, Toys R Us and Circuit City! No lines in 2 of the stores we made purchases in and we even got really good parking spots! Eric, once again, earns the title of “King of Parking”. All hail him.

eating dinner in style!

Yum. We went to the Original Steakhouse & Sports Theater last night for dinner. No better way to enjoy dinner than surrounded by a gazillion TVs showing the Redskins win a football game!! If the pimply-faced waiter boy had been just a bit more attentive, it would’ve been a perfect outing. (Sara was very well behaved which was an added bonus!)

Grinches, Scrooges and plain old meanies.

Thank goodness for online shopping. Luckily, the majority of our holiday shopping has been done online. There have been a few items I’ve had to venture out into the wilds of the shoppping mall for but I didn’t have any complaints. Until yesterday. Sara and I are strolling through the mall. She is sitting happily in her stroller with sippy cup and goldfish crackers. I’m on a mission. Haircut for Sara, cigars for Dad and Chick-fil-A for lunch. Haircut was a breeze. Went upstairs to the tobacco store and ran into (literally) the grinch. This woman had no clue. She was standing in the middle of the walkway with a huge coat and lots of bags. She was taking up so much room that “traffic” coming and going was halted. She proceeds to put her bag down and reach into her pocket for her cell phone. Um….HELLO?! Could you move you and all your crap OUT OF THE WAY?! There were vacant benches not more than 20 feet away. One lady loudly said “Excuse me!” and pushed her way by. I decided not to be so nice. I bumped into one of her bags and then rolled over her foot with the stroller. She didn’t even look up from her phone call but boy did it make me feel better. Got Dad’s cigars then it was off to enjoy the best chicken sandwich ever invented.

edge of my seat

Last night’s Redskins game. Minutes to go in the 4th quarter. Redskins have the ball. Only down by 3 points. Ramsey throws an INTERCEPTION in the end zone. Unfreakinbelievable.

Anyone notice?

Anyone notice that the Bazerghi family heads have changed?? Sara now has more hair, I have a different hairstyle and good ol’ Eric has stayed the same. Maybe we should put gray flecks in his goatee. Now THAT would be realistic. ;-)
