Happy Day to Me!

Wow! Woke up to ballons, streamers, flowers, presents and a fresh pot of coffee. Whooohoooo I love being treated like the princess that I am. HA! Just for the record, this is the last one I’m celebrating. Getting too close to the top of the proverbial Hill. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes and goodies!

SAS

In case you were wondering SAS stands for Sorry Assed Skins. Once again, they get beat by those darn ‘ol Cowboys. Grrrr. I guess it’s to be expected, Cowboys have won 13 out of the last 14 meetings. I hope they get a butt whooping at practice this week. If the Browns beat them this weekend, I’m taking my Redskins flag down. So there! :) ~~

Tornado, up close and personal

Yikes. Last Friday night we were going to meet some friends for dinner. The weather was pretty sketchy most of the day and there were tornado warnings south of us. Welllllll…we’re driving and the sky looks a little strange and then we see the funnel. It’s headed right towards us. It had flashes of blue in it (electrical?) and seemed to be moving pretty quickly. We pulled over for a bit then made a u-turn and headed right home. I don’t think my heart has ever beat so fast!! Got home to no power. Waited for about a half hour then ended up going to a local neighborhood eatery and had pizza. Restaurant was packed – I think that shopping center was the only thing around with power. Power came on about 10:30 – 4 hours later. Heard the next morning that the tornado we saw did some damage to an office park and knocked out traffic lights and power to the majority of Ashburn. Fun times!

Mocha Frapp Store

This morning Sara and I went with a neighbor to Starbucks. Sara was very excited to order a chocolate milk for herself. She kept saying that we were in the “mocha frapp store”. What a goof.

Sara started Little Gym again!

Yesterday was the first day of Little Gym for Sara. We took the summer ‘off’ and boy was she excited to go back yesterday! Mr. Chad, her teacher, remembered her from the Spring semester and she ran right up to him and gave him a high five. She walked on the beam, did her somersaults without help and learned how to do a “jump swing” onto the bar. Of course the highlight of the class was bubbles at the end! She’s already talking about the next class. :)

Family in South Florida

Ugh. This has been a HORRIBLE hurricane season! Hurricane Frances is screaming towards Florida and Eric’s parents are in Ft. Lauderdale. I’m watching The Weather Channel and I keep checking the NOAA website for updates. Broward county has enstated an evacuation but we don’t yet know what Eric’s parents have decided to do. We want them up here with us. Say your prayers!!
