The Big-Girl Bed - A Week Later

January 15th, 2006

Last week, after finally giving in to the fact that our little Sara isn’t as little as she once was, we decided to head down to Ikea and get Sara her first ‘Big-Girl’ bed; a big twin-sized bed with large drawers underneath and a pretty Princess bedding set. Sara was a trooper; we talked about it the day before and explained to her that she was growing up and needed something bigger. We also decided to tell her that we would eventually move her into the bigger bedroom (my old office) when the time came for her to have a new baby brother or sister. She was a little bit reluctant at first, but when she realized that she would be able to make some of the ‘design’ decisions, she got very excited. She’s already decided on the color of her eventual new room!

A week later, Sara hasn’t looked back. She loves her new bed and her ‘rearranged’ bedroom. She has a place to read her books and listen to her music. If only we could find a nightlight that doesn’t produce ’scary shadows’…
